Why Video Sells Boats

A buyer watching
your boat run
is half-sold.

Photos show what the boat looks like. Video shows what it feels like to own.

On the Gulf Coast, most serious boat buyers are scrolling from somewhere else — Atlanta, Houston, Birmingham, the Carolinas. They’ll never see your listing in person until they’re ready to write a check, and they decide which boats are worth flying down for based on what they see on screen. The same is true for charters: customers book trips after watching a reel they saw on Instagram, often before they ever pick up the phone.

Marine videography is what closes that gap. A cinematic walkthrough shows how the salon flows, how the helm sits, how she runs at speed. A drone tracking shot puts the buyer in the cockpit. The decision gets made before the conversation starts.

Who This Is For

Marine video, built
for three audiences.

Different marine clients need different videos. The walkthrough film a broker uses to sell a 55-foot sportfisherman is not the same product as a charter promo reel or a tournament highlight film. We’ve specialized for all three.

Video Questions

Before
the shoot.

How long does a typical boat video shoot take?

Listing reels and walkthrough films are typically half-day shoots — 4 to 6 hours including dockside walkthrough, underway capture, and drone work. Charter promo reels with talent and lifestyle scenes run a full day. Tournament coverage is scoped per event, usually 2-4 days.

Yes — underway capture is where marine video comes alive. We shoot from a tender or chase boat with stabilized gear, plus drone tracking shots that put the buyer in the wheelhouse. Underway shooting requires a calm-weather window, which we coordinate around tides and conditions.

Drone work needs sustained winds under 25 knots and dry conditions. Cinema camera work is more forgiving. We reschedule freely for unsafe conditions, and the Gulf Coast typically gives us 3-4 viable shoot windows per week year-round.

Drone is included in every boat package, airspace permitting. If the location is restricted we will tell you before the shoot day.

Yes — daily social-ready cuts during multi-day events are standard on tournament packages. Same-day teaser cuts during a single-day shoot are available for an additional fee.

All marine gear is rinsed after every shoot, drone water-landing protocols are part of every flight plan, and we carry $2M in liability insurance plus equipment coverage. Years of marine shooting means we know what survives and what doesn’t — we don’t learn on your boat.

Multiple cuts per shoot — wide 16:9 for YachtWorld, Boats.com, BoatTrader, and YouTube; vertical 9:16 for Reels and TikTok; square 1:1 for LinkedIn and Facebook feed. All color graded, all music-licensed.

For Listing Reels and Walkthrough Films, no — you receive the final graded delivery. For Tournament Films and recurring charter retainers, raw delivery can be arranged.
