Hi, I’m Korbin Henderson. I run KDH Productions in Pensacola, Florida. I specialize in 4K drone videography for real estate and events. If you’re hiring someone to film your property from the sky, it’s important to understand how FAA rules apply.
I’m an FAA-certified drone pilot under Part 107. That means I follow federal rules for safe and legal drone flights. Here’s a clear breakdown of what that means for you as a client.

What Is FAA Part 107?
Part 107 is a set of rules made by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). These rules cover commercial drone use in the United States. If someone flies a drone for real estate, events, or marketing, they must have this certification.
To get it, I had to pass a test on:
- Airspace rules
- Weather patterns
- Emergency procedures
- Flight restrictions
- Airport communication
Only certified drone pilots are legally allowed to get paid for drone work.
Why This Matters for Real Estate and Events
If you’re a real estate agent or event planner, hiring someone who isn’t certified could create problems. Here’s why:
1. Legal Liability
Flying drones near homes, people, or beaches without permission is illegal. If there’s an accident, your listing or event could be held responsible.
2. Airspace Restrictions
In Florida, areas near airports (like Pensacola International Airport) have restricted airspace. Only certified pilots can request legal clearance to fly there.
3. Insurance Coverage
I carry drone liability insurance. If a drone hits something or someone, you’re protected. Many uncertified pilots don’t have insurance.

Where Can Drones Fly Legally in Pensacola?
As a certified pilot, I follow airspace maps to avoid restricted areas. In and around Pensacola, here are a few notes:
- Pensacola Beach: Some areas are under Class C airspace. I apply for clearance before every shoot.
- Downtown Pensacola: Controlled airspace requires air traffic permission.
- State Parks or Federal Land: Special permits may be required. I handle all of that for you.
I also check for:
- Temporary flight restrictions (TFRs)
- Stadium rules for game days
- Events that might block airspace
Safe Flying Practices I Follow
These are FAA rules I always stick to:
- Fly under 400 feet
- Keep the drone in line of sight
- No flying over crowds
- No flying at night without proper lighting
- No flying directly over people without waivers
How This Protects You
When you hire me, you’re hiring someone who:
- Is certified by the FAA
- Follows legal airspace rules
- Understands weather and drone performance
- Delivers safe, smooth footage with full insurance
You can focus on your listing or event. I take care of the rest.
Summary
FAA rules aren’t just red tape. They protect people and property. They also make sure the footage is legal and safe to use. If you’re in Pensacola, Destin, or Gulf Shores, I’ll make sure your drone shoot is done by the book and looks amazing.
